Welcome To Ezydance!

Are you here because you like to dance - and by that I mean "real" dancing with a partner? Would you like to learn to dance ballroom, latin or maybe a waltz or another wedding dance? Perhaps you have done some dancing, but a long time ago, or you want to improve your skills. Great! Then you are in the right place! We certainly can help you achieve your goals.

At our Ezydance latin and ballroom dance lessons you can learn to dance the steps and techniques of all the popular dances:

  • Rumba
  • ChaCha
  • Mambo
  • Salsa
  • Samba
  • Rock'n'Roll
  • Waltz
  • Viennese Waltz
  • Foxtrot
  • Quickstep
  • Tango
  • Argentine Tango
  • Merengue

The Ezyway method works based on repetition. We have found in our dance teaching careers that people learn quickest by repeating the steps often, so our beginner dance lessons ensure that the steps are reinforced every two weeks, by splitting the dance styles we teach into two groups (we call them Group A and Group B) and then alternating these every week! Sounds simple? It is - but it works! The problem with other teaching techniques which focus on a particular style in a dance lesson is that it becomes weeks or months before that dance style is taught again and by then the student is back to square one. Using the Ezyway method the steps are reinforced over and over until they are "danced without thinking"! We use the same approach of repetition to build upon the steps learnt in our Intermediate dance lessons, where we work on general partnering, leading and following, developing technique and adding steps to your repertoire - for dances in the particular group being taught that week.

And now, please take your time to browse and enjoy our website and we hope to see you soon on the dance floor!

Ron Bampton

Ron Bampton is a well known and respected ballroom dancer and teacher. He has been heavily involved in dancing in Australia for many years, and has introduced the joy of dancing to literally thousands of students.

Ron startedRon Bampton dancing while still a teenager and soon found his life's passion. Dancing seven days a week, Ron could not get enough, and soon turned professional, dancing in various Australian ballroom competitions.

He has been teaching for more than 20 years and in that time has taught thousands of students, from the very beginners, to advanced dancers who eventually turned professional themselves.

Ron runs the Ezydance Studios, where he continues to bring dancing into people's lives.

Dancing Career

In his long dancing career, Ron has clocked up many great achievements, including: winning many championship titles; establishing the largest SA dance studio; introducing live music to competitions; bringing many teams to win national formation group titles; teaching the largest number of students who became SA and National champions; teaching students (15) who went on to open their own studios all over Australia.

Ron's first partner, Betty Harris and he won the Australian Pre-Amateur (now B grade) against 43 couples - with no heats!

Ron and his second partner, Maxine, won many major Amateur (now A grade) championships. These include:

  • The Australasian
  • The International (1st time won outside of Victoria)
  • The Academy
  • The Dance Masters of Australia
  • The Australian Ballroom Dancing Title (Twice)
  • The SA Title (10 Times!)

Ron and Maxine also represented Australia in Tokyo, Sydney and Melbourne before turning professional - winning more titles!

Ron and his third partner, Kaye won as professionals before concentrating on their studio - and producing more champions and professionals than anyone else!

Ron introduced the Easter Festival Competitions to bring people to Adelaide for the long weekend. His SA Dance Society had up to 6,000 spectators at the Entertainment Centre in 1994, with 85 registered entrants from Ron's own studio!

Bringing Dancing To Schools

Ron is very interested in teaching young people to dance for the many benefits it brings - for example it teaches social interaction, physical coordination and timing, and it builds self-confidence. Most recently, he was successful in obtaining a grant in 2006, in conjunction with the Dancing Association of South Australia (DASA), from the Government of South Australia's Active Club Program, to teach teachers in primary and secondary schools how to teach ballroom dancing to their students.
